The manager of the professional England football team Gareth Southgate have said that the format with which the next year’s European Championship might have to be amended for it to successfully take place amid COVID-19 pandemic.

The Euros 2020, was initially scheduled as from the 12th of June to the 12th of July this year in 12 cities across Europe. The competition was there in after pushed to 2021 due to the corona virus pandemic.
The infection rate rose drastically in the cities where matches are to be taken. This has made the UEFA federation to postpone the competition to 2021.
