Chelsea played a draw with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, the match was to be decided through penalty shoot outs and Chelsea still came out top. Kepa Arrizabalaga made brilliant saves for Chelsea from the penalty spot as they got through to the next stage of the competition.
Thomas Tuchel brought Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley as substitutes in the final minutes of the match. He necessarily brought them in for the penalty shoot out as it was already certain that he match would end in a draw. Kepa Arrizabalaga has Chelsea’s number one choice goalkeeper when it comes to penalties.
